Apple iPhone 4S Has Added Thorns to Competition

The competition between Google’s android smart phones and Apple’s iPhones has now taken on a new face. Apple iPhones ruled the market with no opponents for several years until Google released android phones. A wide variety of applications, an amazing look, user-friendly navigations etc that are offered by android phones attracted large numbers of smart phone users and the demand of apple iPhones was huge in no time. Operating systems used by both these smartphone giants made the big difference. Developers claim that android OS is more stable, user-friendly and reliable than Apple’s imac, whereas fans of Apple iPhone disagree to it.  Till the fall of 2011, Android smart phones had acquired 61.6 percent of market share when Apple had to satisfy with just 25.1 percent but the arrival of Apple iPhone 4S has been a threat for android smart phones.

A recent survey reveals that 45 percent of customers who bought new Smartphones by the end of 2011 opted for Apple iPhone 4S rather than getting an android smartphone. This change in trend has accelerated the market share of Apple to 44.5 percent by limiting the demand of android phones to 46.9 percent. It’s true that android users download more applications for their smart phones than iPhone users, but this statistical data does not signify that all the applications released by android are useful. The reason for the high number of downloads can also be taken the other way around. Android users might be downloading more applications because the majority of such apps are not satisfying their needs and they are trying to find better versions. Whatever the reason may be, the growth in the demand of iPhones would have tied the genius of android to the chairs to come up with something new to regain the market share.
